SILVERNAIL - PETERSON
"DUCK CLUB"
Familiar site?
In the limits below, notice that the majority of ducks are sprig. These photos were taken when the bag limit included seven pintail.
As we all know, now when you shoot your one allowed sprig, all you can do is sit and watch hundreds of sprig bomb your set-up at 15 yards!!!!
If the limit was seven sprig, would the last three seasons have been so unpredictable?
It's me, Lonny, after a great morning with Justin in the wood duck blind?
2007 - 2008
SEASON OBSERVATIONS
Judging by the number of hunters returning, the local scuttlebutt and our season experiences 2007 season was far better 2005 and 2006 put together.
As last year I was hindered by my health problems which I won't bore you with but when I hunted we did well.
Another year with no fog, we had lots of north wind which is good and the storm of the century which set off a week of dynamite hunting both before during and after.
Seems to be a lot more interest in hunting for the 2008 - 2009 season. That's what killing birds can do, gets the old blood pumping through clogged arteries.
All we have left for the 2008 season are a couple blinds in the Sutter Bypass Rotation. There's a possibility something new could pop up but there's no guarantee. Wish you all the best. Happy Hunting.
By the way if you have any pictures we'd love to post them in one of our photo galleries. We'd also like to encourage you to send your thoughts for our hunters forum. Whether they be pro or con about our club or any other club or just to complain about the one sprig limit.
